When writing an ad, email, or other marketing piece, you want it to be engaging and persuasive. That’s why the style you use is critical.
Make it epic!
Easy to Scan. These days, prospects are crazy-busy, and man will read your marketing piece on a phone or tablet. If your copy isn’t easy to scan, it won’t be read.
Prospect-focused. Your copy should be more about the prospect than your product or offer. Use plenty of YOU language. If the words you or your aren’t cropping up, at least occasionally, that’s a red flag.
Interesting. Advertising legend David Ogilvy said, “You can’t bore people into buying.” So explore ways to make your copy upbeat, fresh and interesting.
Conversational. Copywriting is essentially a conversation with your prospect. So write that way. If a prospect were next to you right now, how would you talk about your product or offer?
